A Stone Fish — Imprint of History

A Stone Fish
I am a stone fish, living in an old stone wall.
For hundreds of years, I have swum within this wall,
watching the world from inside.
I watched a baby grow into a child,
grow into an adult, grow old, and one day, they were gone.
I watched an acorn sprout and grow into a tree,
its acorns sprouting into trees until a forest grew.
I saw people living in peace between wars.
I saw people at war again after a brief moment of peace.
Time has passed so quickly
while I take a single breath or make a single stroke.
I am a stone fish, swimming in an old stone wall.
